Steve "The Dude" Rude has a style that pays homage to Kirby and also to the spirit of the Marvel Age of comics. It has the clean and bold linework that characterizes action and emotion. The framing and pacing also carries across the Kirby storytelling techniques that work effectively well. Rude's Nexus proved that independent comics with high quality could succeed in the 80's and also proved his talent could succeed beyond the 80's.
